Robotics and Animation Sampler

Grades 1st-5th

9:00-10:00 AM
  For 6 weeks the students will learn to make a stop motion movie and the other 6 weeks they will learn to use a Dash robot. Students will be able to easily create awesome stop-motion animated movies with titles, credits, and sound effects. All supplies including Lego's and tablets are provided but students are welcome to bring to class their own Lego or action figures. At the end of the class the movies that the students make will be shared with the parents.
 Dash is a real robot that will respond to voice commands, navigates objects, dances, and sings. Dash is easily programmed with a tablet that we provide. Working in teams of 2, students will give Dash new behaviors and meet challenges.

Coding Fun
Grades 1st-5th

10:15-11:15 AM
  Students will learn to code and program by creating interactive art, games, animated stories and much more! No experience necessary in this fun class. Students will practice on a variety of easy to use coding programs to build their coding skills. All equipment is provided.

Video Game Design
Age 10 and up

11:30-12:30 PM
 Don’t just play games, learn how to create them. Students will use game creation software to create and program their own PC based video game. They will learn about sprites, objects, events and actions. Students will take home their finished games at the end of the semester.



Coding Gone Wild
Grades 6th thru 10th

1-2- PM
  This fun class is designed for students with little or no experience in coding. It will start with visual block based coding languages and progress to learning the basics of line by line syntax based languages. Students will learn by creating gaming and story telling projects as well as completing various challenges such as drawing with code. All equipment including laptops are provided for class use


Techer Bio:
David Hirschfeld relocated to Bradenton, Fl. from Memphis, TN. While in Memphis he owned and operated Bits, Bytes & Bots Computer Adventures, the leading provider of technology classes for children and teens in the Memphis area. He presently teaches at various home school groups, after school programs and camps. When he is not sharing his love of technology with others he can be found playing softball.
