How to resize an image in Microsoft Paint

Microsoft Paint is a simple graphics editing program that comes with the Windows operating system. In this short tip, we'll show you how to quickly and easily resize a large image to the dimensions you need!
  1. Open your image in Paint.
  2. Make sure you are viewing your image at 100% so you can judge the size you need correctly. This should be the default view, but you can go to View on the toolbar and select the 100% button if not.
  3. On the Home tab, click the Resize option. A dialog box will appear.
  4. Make sure that Maintain aspect ratio in the middle of the dialog box is selected, so that your image will not be distorted when you resize it.
  5. At the top, select whether you want to resize by Percentage or Pixels.

More than thirty years ago, John Gage of Sun Microsystems coined the now famous phrase: "The network is the computer." Indeed the true power of the computer comes from being connected, and with more devices connected the power grows exponentially. We see this today with cloud computing and increasingly with the Internet of Everything (IoE) which is creating unprecedented opportunities for networked connections among people, processes, data, and things.

Largely because of this exciting evolution, we are now facing a similar inflection point with respect to security. To capture opportunities made possible by ever-expanding connectivity, security must evolve in lock-step. In effect: "The network must become the security device." Let me explain.

Does your phone know where you are? If you've used your phone to find directions or locate a nearby restaurant, you've used its global positioning system (GPS) and it's likely that it would be able to pinpoint your location within a close range.

Location services can be convenient for automatically adding location information (geotags) to photos. Some people also use location services to post their locations to social networking sites, such as Facebook. Be aware, however, that others can use your location information, too.

Every day, society encounters unforeseen threats. Professionals responsible for law enforcement, emergency management, national security, cyberthreat intelligence and counter fraud need to operate faster than the speed of those threat. They need to have quick access to accurate and comprehensive information so that analysts can cut through the noise created by the vast amount of data now available. Armed with the most relevant information on patterns, relationships, vulnerabilities and potential scenarios, analysts can then quickly assimilate insights and take actions to confidently make mission critical decisions.
