Has your SNAP end of year Promote & Transfer process been run yet?
If you are not sure, in SNAP go to File | Previous Years

If 2023a in the list - it has been run! This is also where you want to go if you need to access data from the 2022-2023 school year. Navigating and reporting in the archive year works exactly the same as the current year. Just go to File | Current Year when you are done!

If you are not seeing "2023a" in your archive year, list the Promote and Transfer process still needs to be run and we have RESOURCES for you!

Resuming nightly data imports (if applicable)
If you import data from your student information system into SNAP, when you return in the fall your imports will need to be turned back on. This is what will advance students to their 2023-2024 school and grade assignments. Check two things first before resuming nightly imports

  1. Confirm the Promote and Transfer process has been run in SNAP (If you go to File | Previous years you will see "2023a" in the list)
  2. Confirm the end-of-year process has been run in your student information system

PSNI Cloud customers, contact us to have your imports resumed. Local users get in touch with your school/district IT staff to have this done. Rediker cloud customers contact Rediker Software directly.
Great News!
When you renew your SNAP Health Center annual subscription (due by September 1st), SNAP will now automatically reauthorize your program and enable all the features included in your renewal!

Importing your State's 2023-2024 Immunization Requirements
PSNI has updated immunization requirements ready for each state! Once your students are in their 2023-2024 grade assignments, it is time to import your state’s requirements. This update will also add new vaccine names to your immunization list.

Download detailed instructions here!

After careful consideration, PSNI has made the decision to remove COVID 19 vaccine requirements from all state setups for the 2023-2024 school year. In addition, all non-US COVID 19 vaccine names will be removed from the vaccine list. Although this will not remove them from your vaccine list, it does give you the option to delete them knowing they will not come back during a subsequent import. For detailed instructions click here!

Running an Immunization Not In Compliance Report (optional)
Once you have your students in their 2023-2024 grade assignments and you have imported your state’s 2023-2024 Immunization Requirements, you can run an Immunization Noncompliance report. This will give you a list of students whose immunization record does not meet your state’s immunization requirements to attend school.

Back to School Tips for Custom State Report Users! (if applicable)
Information and data entry guidelines are the key to excellent report results! Now is the time to get your SNAP users the information they need so everyone is on the same page.

Admin and User Guides
PSNI provides two guides with each custom state report. (Available in select states). PSNI Cloud customers can find these guides in the program list you launch SNAP Health Center from, in the state report folder. Locally installed customers can access them in the All Apps list on your computer under the PSN, Inc folder.

Admin Guide - this is designed for the nurse leader and explains how to map and run the report

User Guide - this is designed for SNAP users and explains how to document your state’s reportable data in SNAP

Starting the school year right!
  • Review the User Guide to ensure your SNAP program has all of the necessary data elements it refers to
  • Provide a blank copy of your state report to each of your SNAP users so they know what data is reportable
  • Ensure your SNAP users know how to access the report User Guide
  • Review the Admin Guide so you know when your report needs to be run and how to run it
  • Review your report mapping to ensure all appropriate or newly added data elements are being counted

Library Cleanup
Once your SNAP end of year Promote and Transfer process has been completed, it is the perfect time for library cleanup!
  • Remove teachers who have left the district from your Teacher list - instructions here
  • Edit visit log library items under Library | View/Edit Libraries | Visit Selections – video here
  • Merge duplicate health conditions – instructions here
Closing SNAP Health Center CORRECTLY!
Before you head out at the end of your day, always close SNAP Health Center by going to File | Exit. This ensures that your SNAP session is securely closed and your user license is released.

PSNI Cloud customers should also log out of the cloud using the menu icon in the upper left.
