  • Diversity Initiatives

Your donation makes a profound impact on our students. It is not just about numbers; it is about inspiration and opportunities for the entire Brooklyn Tech community.

PA is kindly asking for your generous donations to thrive and excel in our students' academics and crucial extracurriculars. The money raised by PA will help pay for crucial support and programs. We need your help!! Your donation is vital to helping Brooklyn Tech High School offer all students the quality and range of opportunities.

Our suggested amount for your gift is $750 per student. We recognize that $750 may be an easy gift for some, a stretch for many, and a real economic hardship for others. We ask that each family give whatever they are able to. Any amount counts, every donation matters! We greatly appreciate your gift and your participation is truly important.

Matching Gifts: Another way to increase your donation to our PA is through your company’s Matching Gift program. Please contact your Human Resource department to see if your company offers matching gifts.

Thank you for your generosity, time, and consideration. The Brooklyn Tech PA relies on donations from parents, guardians, families, friends, and community businesses to fund all of the enriching programs we sponsor. A school is as strong as its parent body, we look forward to an exciting year ahead!

Tech PA Freshman Representative Candidate Bios

Xue Fen Chen

Hi, my name is Xue F Chen, my son is in the 9th grade, I have bookkeeping skills and hope I can join the team, thanks.

Tricia Forrest

As a parent I am motivated to be of service to any community that embraces and supports my child. As an individual I believe we have a moral obligation to serve our community and society at large, in any capacity we can. It is at the heart of both my personal and professional lives. I work in an industry that serves community based service organizations and schools, and volunteer my time and services as much as I can to organizations actively working to serve people in meaningful and impactful ways. I've served on the PTA for one of my son's elementary school (as both Treasurer and VP) and was a regular volunteer for his middle school PTA as well. I would like to be of service here at BTHS as well in whatever capacity needed.

Cathy Han

As a passionate advocate for inclusive education and sustainable futures, I am excited to bring my interdisciplinary experience to the Brooklyn Tech PA Executive Board. My career spans management consulting, technology startups, and nonprofit leadership, where I have helped global organizations like Deloitte Consulting and higher-ed institutions like UC Berkeley and Asia Pacific SDG Higher Education Alliance transform their digital innovation and sustainability development into meaningful outcomes.

I have had over 15 years of Board experience for a variety of cross-cultural education-focused nonprofit organizations. Currently, I serve as UC Berkeley's Cal for All Host, DEIBJ Alumni Leadership Council Founder, and Cal Alumni Club of New York's Board Secretary to help develop future-forward leadership and foster community-driven solutions.

With my experience as a Berkeley/Columbia/London School of Economics alum and as a mom navigating the complexities of parenthood, I am deeply committed to holistic wellness and equitable opportunities for our children. As a PA Freshman Representative, I aim to champion initiatives that promote inclusive development, sustainable growth, and community empowerment, ensuring every BK Tech student thrives. Together, we can create a collaborative environment that enriches our children's education and supports families on their journey toward a brighter future.

Sandy (Shui) Lee

I had prior experiences helping out at a school with baked/snake sales. I will try my best to contribute my time to this high school as much as possible. Below are some of my skillsets:

* Computer/programming language

* Communication

* Detailed orientation

* Teamwork

Jason Miller

  • Served a total of 5 years as PTA VP and President, and as an elected parent member of the School Leadership Team, at P.S. 32 in Carroll Gardens (2016-2021).
  • Both my parents were NYC schoolteachers (which is how they met), who had a combined total of about 75 years teaching in public schools in Brooklyn and Queens.

Joseph Nadege

I have been an active member of the PA/PTA for the past nine years since my son enrolled in Pre-K. I've held non-executive and executive board positions, demonstrating my commitment to school involvement. I’ve also served on the SLT for eight of those years, showing my consistent contribution and leadership. I am eager to bring the same dedication, leadership, and contributions to the Brooklyn Tech family.

I have more than 20 years of experience in event planning, operations, and project management which has prepared me well to assist in organizing and executing successful PA initiatives. My time on the SLT has given me an in-depth understanding of school dynamics and procedures.

I am skilled at building relationships and collaborating to create platforms for our community. I excel at working together, managing time, communicating effectively, and completing tasks, leading to successful results.

I am excited to represent and support the interests of the Freshmen parent community.

Nick Napoli

Hello Brooklyn Tech! This is Nick Napoli here – my son Charlie is a Tech freshman. I am a practicing architect, an educator, and a fundraising volunteer. In these roles I belong to many different teams: together we combine a broad range of strengths and talents to achieve a common goal. I see a similar dynamic of teamwork transpire in my son’s education in New York City: the collaboration between teachers, staff, and parents has made his experience extraordinary. As a Freshman Representative, I want to contribute to the ongoing teamwork at Brooklyn Tech and to help nurture an environment of curiosity and inquiry where students can become lifelong learners and teachers.

I helped plan fundraising events at P.S. 29 (where my boys attended elementary school) and have worked phones for Princeton Annual Giving; and I am particularly interested in working on the Fundraising, Events and Volunteers, and Communication committees.

Michele Sennon-Britton

  • Strong belief in parent involvement and its contribution to quality education for all children.
  • Actively involved in my child’s educational journey from kindergarten to present.
  • Volunteered at afterschool events in elementary and middle school.
  • Former parent member of the School Leadership Team at my child's middle school,
  • Gained insight into how parents can make meaningful contributions to a school’s success.
  • Very organized and willing to work with others to promote the well-being of the school community.
  • Flexible, proactive and altruistic are three words that best describe me.

Lily Tang

I am writing to express my interest in the Freshman Parent Members at Large and to work collaboratively in enriching the Brooklyn Tech High School community. I am a parent of a Freshman, and I have two children in college, both graduates of Specialized HS. For many years, I have been involved in the elementary school PTA as the secretary, treasurer, Vice President, and as the President. In addition to serving the PTA, I have been a part of the elementary and middle SLT - school school leadership teams. I believe parent involvement is one of the key contributors to a successful learning environment. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to contributing and supporting the Brooklyn Tech community.

Danika White

My goal as a board member is to advocate for policies that prioritize academic excellence, inclusivity, and the overall well-being of our students. I am eager to collaborate with fellow board members, faculty and parents to build a nurturing and dynamic educational and fun environment where every child can thrive.

As a parent not only am I invested in the success of my daughter but every child here at BTHS. My skills and experiences which include my efficiency in:

1. Volunteering at non profit events
