Microsoft Outlook Customer Manager Retirement
Lost among so many other end of life announcements coming out from Microsoft (including Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Office 2010), has been the retirement of one of their products - Outlook Customer Manager.
What Is Happening?
Unlike the end of life changes that we have previously sent emails out about, there is no new version coming out and no product to replace Outlook Customer Manager, it will simply be going away.
While we are not aware of anyone who is using the program, this is what could make the retirement that much more of a mess - if we don't know about your using the program, we can't help you prepare for it's retirement.
The retirement is coming on June 30, 2020.
Microsoft's official statement on the retirement states that:
"
If you are using Outlook Customer Manager to track customers, you can download your business contacts, companies and deals data before June 30, 2020.
To help you maintain continuity in your customer management efforts, eligible customers can take advantage of a special offer from Nimble CRM for a free one-year subscription."
Outlook Customer Manager is included in Office 365 Business Premium and Office 365 E3 subscriptions, so if you don't know whether or not you use it, that would be the first thing to check.
We strive to look out for the best interest of our customers and their procurement in the IT venue. Be it hardware, software or service related, we want to guide you in the most effective manner possible.
