How to Use a Calculator
on Your Mobile Device
I admit, I have gotten lazy about arithmetic and impossibly forgetful about mathematics. So, having a calculator ready is quite useful in a pinch for spur of the moment calculations.

At your fingertips are built-in calculators for your mobile device, iPhones, iPad and Android Phones & Tablets. We going to show you how to access and use each.
Calculator for iPhone

The Calculator app is one of the native apps
that comes with your iPhone. Locate the app and start tapping.
Perform basic arithmetic calculations with the standard calculator in portrait mode.
Use the scientific calculator for exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions by rotating the iPhone to landscape mode.
iPhone Calculator Basic Tips
Copy, delete, or clear numbers >
  • Copy a calculation result: Touch and hold the calculation result in the display, tap Copy, then paste the result somewhere else, such as a note or message.
  • Delete the last digit: If you make a mistake when you enter a number, swipe left or right on the display at the top.
  • Clear the display: Tap the Clear (C) key to delete the last entry, or tap the All Clear (AC) key to delete all entries.
Where's the iPad Calculator?
The iPad does not come with a built-in calculator, but it does have a built-in calculating function that's handy for quick equations and conversions.
It's in Spotlight Search!

  1. Pull down on Home Screen in a blank spot.
  2. You will see the Spotlight Search at the top.
  3. Type "2 + 2" in the search bar at the top of your screen.
  4. Sure enough, there's the answer for you.

Calculator App for Android

The Calculator app is in the "App Drawer" from the Home Screen.
Tap the the menu panel (3-dots) and select Advanced Panel for more options.
The basic Calculator
Tap on the blue < (see left) to reveal the Scientific Calculator.
