WSU Ventures will host a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant workshop on Friday, March 10 from 8:15 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Wichita State University Rhatigan Student Center, Lucas Room 265. Representatives from the Navy and the U.S. Department of Agriculture will be in attendance to assist with the SBIR grant application process.  This workshop covers the basics of SBIR/STTR and how the programs have changed. Learn a simple and logical four-step process for preparing a competitive Phase I  SBIR/STTR proposal.

WSU Ventures has added two new members to its team, aimed at strengthening technology transfer services available to Wichita  State University faculty, staff, students and partners.  Gael Tisack has joined as director of technology evaluation and industry engagement, and Lauren Beastall has joined as commercialization coordinator.  Read more...


In anticipation of its April 8 grand opening, the 18,000-square-foot GoCreate makerspace at Wichita State University will soon offer memberships and membership assistance to creators of all ages and experience. The application period is now open for the 2017 Department of Defense (DoD) Velociter Programâ„¢. The  program provides DoD Small Business Innovation Research / Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) participants with entrepreneurial training, commercialization mentorship, and engagement with potential end users, customers, or investors.The program is sponsored by the DoD at no cost to participating SBIR/STTR awardees.  Learn more...

Wichita State University student are eligible for grants of up to $1,000 from WSU Ventures to support high-potential technologies showing promise of commercialization.  The WSU Ventures Innovation Fund was recently replenished thanks to a donation from Bill Lucas, a 1961 WSU graduate.  Qualifying expenses include those related to feasibility studies, planning, market intelligence, technical assistance, laboratory fees, technology or process development, and training software/information technology.
