Marvin Byrd is
a 7 year veteran of the cyber security industry who has specialized in crypto algorithm implementations. Marvin has worked with the PCI (Payment Card Industry) alliance looking at the security of credit card devices devices and side channel attacks for breaking crypto keys.
Marvin will be discussing how block chain works and why it is the basis for most crypto currencies. The discussion points will include the relationship between the creation of the coin, the distributed ledger, how security is maintained, and how transactions are processed. In Marvin's words: we will also discuss blockchain processes, in which there are nodes which serve as a consensus authority for processing transactions, and the genius of the crypto currency implementations of the block chain is that it is the same mining operation which processes the transactions. This process provides the decentralized ledger system that we all hear about when media outlets discuss crypto currencies as they relate to regulated monetary systems. So, there will be some fun, light conversation about the basics of these systems as well as a deep dive into the computing processes that allow crypto currencies to function. In short, I expect to learn A TON of new information.
We look forward to seeing you for this excellent opportunity to hear from an expert about this very relevant topic.
