Customer Profile: Aircraft Tooling, Collaborative Robots in a Harsh Environment

Aircraft Tooling, a Texas-based repair center for the aviation industry, was surprised to find that the collaborative robots from Universal Robots could withstand the high temperatures and harsh environment while performing metal powder and plasma spray processes. The cobots have now been in operation for three years without breakdown or service requirements.

You’ll see robots in places were people typically don’t’ want to work. The robots are able to alleviate the hazard were employees would have to work.

ETH High-Force Electric Cylinder

The Parker ETH Series high-force, ball-screw driven, electric cylinder employs a dramatically improved ball nut and screw design paired with over-sized thrust bearings in order to attain industry leading force density and allowing it to compete with similarly sized roller screw and hydraulic products.

The ETH offers a dramatic increase in force output allowing the designer to reduce one frame size and attain the same or better performance, which equates to space savings and cost reduction. The ETH is ideally suited for thrust type applications such as pressing, bending and forming and offers significant control advantages over typical fluid power solutions.
