REFLEX CES SoM for Bioscience Data Analytics & Medical Imaging
The REFLEX CES COMXpress Stratix® 10 SoC System-on-Module (SoM) is based on the Intel® Stratix® 10 SX FPGA. With 2.8M FPGA logic elements, an integrated quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, 56GB on-board DDR4 memory, and multiple high-speed connectivity resources on the optional PCIe carrier board, this high-performance SoM is ideal for compute-intensive applications such as biomedical data analytics and medical image processing.

For medical imaging applications, the SoM’s resources can be customized to efficiently and optimally process complex imaging algorithms saving both cost and power over traditional, high-power processing methods such as GPUs. High-level FPGA development tools and IP libraries are available to reduce the development time and complexity of implementing the logic of sophisticated image processing algorithms. This SoM enables medical equipment to be safer, smarter, and more secure with a flexible and low-risk path to a successful system design.

REFLEX CES offers short lead-times for the COMXpress SoM and the PCIe carrier board, both are available within a few weeks.

Main Features:
  • Stratix® 10 2.8MLE FPGA with an integrated 1.5GHz quad-core 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processor
  • 56Gbytes of 72-bit ECC DDR4 in four memory channels, 32Gbytes of eMMC flash storage
  • On-board power regulators and power management
  • PCIe Carrier with high-speed Interfaces: QSFP+, PCIe 3.0, SATA3, Mini SAS, USB3, USB2, GigE

Wearable Biomedical All-Rounder

Whether focused on sports, fitness, or remote patient monitoring, health monitoring outside of hospitals has become a growing trend. And multiparameter monitors all share the same requirements: they need to be accurate, small, and operate for a long period of time from a single battery charge. To support this trend, ADI developed the ADPD4100 single-chip complete multimodal sensor front end, stimulating up to eight light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and measuring the return signal on up to eight separate current inputs. Twelve time slots are available, enabling 12 separate measurements per sampling period.

The analog front end (AFE) rejects signal offsets and corruption from asynchronous modulated interference, typically from ambient light, eliminating the need for optical filters or externally controlled dc cancellation circuitry. Multiple operating modes are provided, enabling the ADPD4100 to be a sensor hub for synchronous measurements of photodiodes, biopotential electrodes, resistance, capacitance, and temperature sensors. The multiple operation modes accommodate various sensor measurements, including, but not limited to, photoplethysmography (PPG), electrocardiography (ECG), electrodermal activity (EDA), impedance, capacitance and temperature for various medical and consumer applications.

Target Applications:
  • Wearable health and fitness monitors:
  • Heart Rate Monitors (HRMs)
  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
  • Stress
  • Blood pressure estimation
  • Spot Oxygen saturation (SpO2)
  • Hydration
  • Body composition
  • Home patient monitoring
  • Different sensor measurements:
  • Photoplethysmography (PPG)
  • Electrocardiography (ECG)
  • Electrodermal activity (EDA)
  • Impedance
  • Capacitance
  • Temperature
