Again this year, I invite my clients to drop their old financial documents by the office on Thursday, February 13th, to be securely shredded the next morning, on Break Up With Your Paperwork Day (otherwise known as Valentine's Day).
The most conservative practice is to save tax documents for five years, so any supporting documentation from 2013 or before can certainly be shredded. You can also bring bank statements, credit card bills, or anything with sensitive information that you would like to dispose of. Please bring documents to be shredded in paper folders or cardboard boxes, and remove any plastic and binder clips. Paper clips and staples are fine to leave in. The documents are shredded and recycled by Safeguard Shredding.
I look forward to seeing you!
