PEORIA (August 23, 2024) – The Peoria Park District is thrilled to announce the groundbreaking of its Golf Learning Center’s transformation into an interactive golf entertainment facility!

Golf Learning Center, 7815 N Radnor Rd, Peoria, IL

This innovative hub will feature a 21-bay multi-level electronic driving range, a full-service restaurant, bar, and an indoor golf simulator area. The new center is anticipated to open in late Spring 2025.

While the facility will retain its traditional skills course and driving range experiences, it will be enhanced by the addition of an electronic gaming opportunity utilizing Toptracer technology—the same cutting-edge system used by Topgolf.

In collaboration with Fox Pub and the former owner of Bearded Owl Brewery, the District is excited to bring a unique dining experience to the facility. The restaurant will cater to both those seeking a traditional dining experience and those who wish to enjoy food and drinks while utilizing the bays.

“The Peoria Park District has always evolved to meet the changing needs of our patrons and to enhance the vibrancy of the communities we serve,” said Emily Cahill, the Peoria Park District Executive Director. “Keeping up with the times is crucial, and we’re excited to bring this state-of-the-art golf experience to Peoria.”

This project is largely funded by the State of Illinois’ Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity as advocated for by Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth. The District’s Board of Trustees approved a 4.46 million dollar construction bid from Peoria Metro Construction at its June 26th meeting. At its July 17th meeting, the Trustees approved a Letter of Intent for a Food and Beverage Operator Agreement, with an official operations/lease agreement to follow.

During the renovation, the 9-hole USGA-approved Skills Course and Driving Range will remain operational, though with some limitations. The interior of the building and the greens on the south side will be closed, but the greens on the west side will remain open for use.
