February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month...

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, “Nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year”. Too many of our children, family, and friends are being abused and this needs to stop. As SAHARA’s mission is to support ALL survivors and victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and gender-based violence, we provide focused care to teens. Aside from direct services, our community education programs increase awareness around gender-based violence amongst youth. This year our initiative is to further empower our community. SAHARA will be working with student groups on combating violence and fostering healthy relationships by facilitating youth focused dialogues, workshops, and seminars.
