Becky Jo served as member and community relations director for the Napa Valley Vintners since 2012. Her role included overseeing the organization's multi-million-dollar philanthropic work funded through Auction Napa Valley proceeds and administering the educational, networking, and member-related programming. She also served as community and industry issues director for the NVV from 1998 - 2005, overseeing legal and social issues impacting the Napa Valley wine industry.
In between her two roles with the NVV, Becky Jo was recruited to Mobile, Alabama to take on the job of executive director for the nonprofit Distinguished Young Women, a scholarship and empowerment program for high school girls. She helped to develop programs focusing on self-esteem, public speaking, making healthy choices and setting goals for one's life.
Becky Jo is excited to be working in Sonoma with the team of staff and board members at TSS who share her passion for teens and young adults. "When I attended Cowboy Cab last year, I could see the impact that Teen Services has on the community and on the individual lives of youth in the Valley. I am impressed with the strong leadership and sound organizational health of Teen Services and I look forward to being part of the effort to provide ways for youth to view their futures and the tools to help them get there."
Becky Jo is eager to get to know the Sonoma Valley community and to share the work and success of Teen Services with others in the community. Doug Hanford and Judy Scotchmoor, co-Presidents of the TSS Board both agree, "Becky is a perfect fit. She has boundless energy and a contagious enthusiasm. Plus, her experience in leading a national nonprofit scholarship program for girls and in implementing the Napa Valley Vintners grant investments gives her a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities nonprofit organizations face."
