TEENS HELPING HOMELESS YOUTH IN LA

LA teens braved the rain to be a part of BJE’s Teen Service Corps on Sunday, February 4 for a day of volunteer service and learning to support teens and young adults experiencing homelessness in our city.

The program, held in partnership with JQ International and My Friend’s Place, invited teen volunteers and their families to help prepare snack bags. Jake, a 17-year-old volunteer, said, “It hit home to me when we learned, ‘don’t harden your heart,’ because so often if I pass someone by I have turned away. But really, we are all humans and deserve the same compassion, respect, and acknowledgment as everyone else.”
