Teens Invited to Join Youth Council | |
Serving on the Presbytery Youth Council (YoCo) is a unique way for high school youth to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. On Memorial Day, we honor and remember those who died in service to our country. Presbytery of the James will be closed May 29 so that our staff may spend this day with their loved ones and community. Our office will resume normal hours on May 30. |

Welcome Home Drive Collects Simple Items Every House Needs | New Hanover Church is collecting household and toiletry items through June 9 for refugee families and men and women seeking recovery from addiction, incarceration, and homelessness. The items will be distributed through two organizations, International Rescue Committee and Real Life. Find a list of needed items on the New Hanover website. | |

Enjoy Live Jazz and Zydeco in June | First Church (Richmond) hosts Jazz Under the Stars on June 16 at 7:30 p.m. The free event will feature music by Zachary Smith and the Dixie Power Trio. Bring chairs and blankets to enjoy this outdoor concert. A food vendor will be on site, and the playground will be open. | |
The Presbyterian Women of South Plains Church in Keswick learned how to decorate eggs in the Ukrainian tradition during Lent. Instructor Heide Schumann led the class in sketching designs in pencil on eggs. Next, participants repeatedly applied melted beeswax and dipped the eggs in dyes to create intricate, layered designs. The group also collected donations to benefit Presbyterian Mission Agency’s disaster/refugee relief fund for Ukraine. | |
