Introducing the new ADHB-4 Gen 2 and RHB-1 Gen 2
The ADHB-4 was introduced in late 2009. That’s ten years ago! The ADHB-4 Gen 2 represents the second generation of this proven audio interface platform. We’ve kept all of things you have come to know and love about the ADHB-4, such as a variety of microphone, headset and handset options, along with up to six audio outputs, NENA port, etc.

The unit sports a new display and front panel that many of you will recognize as being similar to our other popular interface, the IP-224. On the back panel we have added a two channel auxiliary audio input via a 3.5 mm stereo jack, which allows users to bring in other audio feeds, such as audio from a broadcast news channel. While new ADHB-4 Gen 2 is slightly wider (about ¼”) and less deep (about ½”), a variety of mounting options are still possible using the same mounting brackets as our current ADHB-4.

The RHB-1 has also gone through a similar, although more subtle , update. The remote headset connectors on both the ADHB-4 and RHB-1 have been changed from DB-9 to RJ-45. This makes cabling between the two units simple using a standard network cable. The unit also features a three - pin AUX input connector that will be enabled in the near future for use with an external handset cradle.

Because we care about backward s compatibility, the new ADHB-4 Gen 2 will be compatible with prior versions of C-Soft with the exception of the new AUX input, which will require C-Soft v7.6 or higher. In addition, an RJ-45 to DB-9 adapter is included with each device along with wiring instructions in the manual for situations w h ere either an ADHB-4 Gen 2 or RHB-1 Gen 2 needs to be connected to the previous model of ADHB-4 or RHB-1.

Customers should expect the pricing to be the same, if not slightly less than the cost of the current product. We expect the RHB-1 Gen 2 to release prior to the end of September and the ADHB-4 Gen 2 along with C-Soft v7.6 to be available sometime in October. Please consult your Telex Radio Dispatch sales contact or manufacturer’s representative for exact price and availability.

  • The latest product CD (manuals, software, firmware and application notes) can be downloaded by approved accounts at https://www.telex.com/us/dispatch/library Documents & Download section.
  • The TX and Link LEDs on the front of the IP-224 unit represent Ethernet connectivety and traffic flow. If the TX LED is On this means RX audio is detected and being transmitted to consoles.
  • Typically the monitored line (handset connected) is displayed with the * symbol on the IP-224 display; this symbol is replaced # when the unit is operating from the secondary Ethernet port during Auto-Failover operation.
  • Technicians, are you wanting to have multiple versions of C-Soft on a single tech PC? Just install and copy the following files; Csoftdesigner.exe, Csoftruntime.exe and Csoftruntime_libFNP.dll from (C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\Telex Communications\C-Soft)
to a new folder and add your design files.
