TEN DAY COUNTDOWN:

NO DUMPING IN OUR BAY!
TEN DAY COUNTDOWN!
DEADLINE TO MOVE NO RAD DUMPING BILL APRIL 15

The Joint Committee on the Judiciary still has 10 days remaining to vote to move the EMERGENCY BILL, H.4444, prohibiting Holtec's planned radioactive water dumping into Cape Cod Bay. Their anticipated plan is to move S.2791 with H.4444 as one bill out of the committee.

It was reported that last Tuesday "the phones were ringing off the hook" with YOUR calls to the Committee to take action.

THANK YOU! YOU ARE MAKING WAVES!

No person shall directly or indirectly deposit, dispose of, or discharge, any solid or liquid radioactive material directly or indirectly (i) in any coastal or inland waters as defined in section 1 of Chapter 131, (ii) within the rise and fall of the tide waters, or (iii) on any land owned by any other person.

You already know that Holtec, the company decommissioning Pilgrim, is now "evaluating" clean up options including discharge of a million gallons of radioactive water into Cape Cod Bay-the cheapest and dirtiest method that will severely damage aquaculture, fishing, marine related businesses, tourism, and real estate that depend on the bay perceived as clean. The health and safety of our communities is at risk. Another option is to ship out-of-state to a licensed facility as Vermont Yankee is doing with support of activists there to protect the Connecticut River.

TELL THEM on Tuesday, April 5
Please take 5 minutes and call the Joint Committee on the Judiciary and thank them for their consideration and urge prompt action on "S.2791 and H.4444 for an affirmative committee vote before the April 15 deadline."
The committee can extend the deadline but this is an EMERGENCY BILL that must move forward and needs action ASAP.
