Social Media, Marketing & Storytelling
March 10, 9-10:30am
Stories are one of, if not THE, most valuable marketing asset at your nonprofit’s disposal. Stories connect people to your cause, convert one-time donors to lifelong supporters, build trust and relationships and demonstrate your impact in the community. Stories are limitless and when presented correctly, they can be the most powerful tool in your marketing arsenal. Told without a strategy and purpose, they will eat up valuable time and resources with very little return.

In this training, three marketing experts will share best practices and practical advice on the use of content and storytelling to promote Spring2ACTion and engage donors throughout the year. You will learn:

  • How to tailor your story to different audiences and platforms
  • What types of stories work best on which platform
  • What information should be highlighted on each platform
  • How to recycle content on each platform and much, more

We all have a story to tell, learn how to really make it count!

"The Power of Spring2ACTion"
Canek Aguirre, Alexandria City Council Member

“There are so many good organizations doing great work in our City,” shares Canek. “Progress is made and problems are solved when a community comes together to support one another.”

As a member of the Alexandria City Council and long-time civic leader and healthcare advocate, Canek knows that there’s only so much government can do to support Alexandrians and it is important that Alexandria has a thriving nonprofit community. He knows it is critical to have nonprofits that address a range of issues – from social justice and education, to housing and health. Alexandria’s nonprofits tackle some of the toughest challenges and they are having a meaningful impact on peoples’ lives.

He also believes in the power and potential of Spring2ACTion. “We are a community that is fortunate to have so many individuals willing to give of their time and resources to help make Alexandria better,” he explains. “It’s amazing to see.” He has seen firsthand how donations – no matter how large or small – can help an organization flourish. “There are causes that start out small but by providing a platform to shine a light on their efforts, you can help foster the momentum that allows them to grow and go on to have greater impact.”

Stories are powerful. We encourage you to share your donors' stories.
