A Message from the City Manager

The City of Temecula places its highest priority on public safety, and as part of the 2022 Mayoral theme, Temecula SAFE, an Emergency Preparedness brochure will be received at every household and business within the City of Temecula in June via U.S. Mail.

While we hope that our City will not have to endure any type of natural disaster or man-made emergency, the reality is we all must do our part to be prepared. A successful recovery includes citizen participation and preparation. Following the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) guidelines, it is expected that every household has a 3-day (minimum) emergency kit filled with basic disaster supplies. This means having your own foodwater, and other necessities to last at least 72 hours. The City's Emergency Preparedness brochure has a checklist of items to help you ensure that your home's emergency kit is stocked with adequate supplies, including consideration of unique needs for household members such as children, senior citizens, and pets.

The brochure is just one of the ways we help inform citizens about emergency preparedness and continue to keep Temecula SAFE. Once received, keep it readily available should you need to reference it quickly. It includes the City's methods of emergency communications and other helpful safety tips; some of which are listed below.  You can also obtain a copy at City Hall or online here.  Additional information about emergency preparedness can be found on the City's website at TemeculaCA.gov/1465/Be-Prepared.

Emergency Communications

City of Temecula is committed to keeping our community safe in any emergency situation.

The City will activate its Emergency Operations Center upon a large-scale emergency, disaster, or other significant event.

In the event of an emergency, the City will post information on its website and Facebook page first:

-City Website: TemeculaCA.gov

-City Facebook: Facebook.com/CityofTemecula

If an incident escalates to a large-scale citywide emergency, other forms of communication may be used:

-Other City Social Media Platforms:

Instagram.com/CityofTemecula

Twitter.com/CityofTemecula

-Recorded Message: Dial 951-560-5111 (this number may also be used to call/text citizens who signed up for Phone Alerts noted below).

-Phone Alerts: Sign up at CityofTemecula.ontheAlert.com*

*You must use an address within the City boundaries. If you do not have one, use your place of business if within the City, or City Hall, as your address. Also, it is a good idea to add 951-560-5111 to your phone contacts so the Phone Alert does not appear as "potential spam" on your screen.

-Channel 3: TemeculaCA.gov/770/Temecula-TV-Channel-3

-Radio: AM1610

-Wireless Emergency Alerts: Auto text to cell phones (no need to sign up).

Report Graffiti

Reporting graffiti is made easy by downloading the City of Temecula app from the App Store and Google Play. You can pinpoint the location of the graffiti and submit pictures with your report.

Once our Street Maintenance team has reviewed your report, a crew member will respond quickly and efficiently to remove graffiti from the public right-of-way. This is just one of the many ways that our Public Works team helps to keep our City safe and beautiful. Watch the video!
