A Message from the City Manager

Greetings -

I hope you are enjoying the holidays with your family, friends, and loved ones.

As we approach the New Year, the City welcomes incoming Mayor Zak Schwank who was chosen unanimously by the Temecula City Council to serve as Mayor of Temecula for 2023. The City Council also unanimously selected Council Member James “Stew” Stewart to serve as Mayor Pro Tem assuming mayoral duties in the event of Mayor Schwank’s absence. In addition, the City welcomes two new Council Members elected by the citizenry within their respective Districts and sworn in earlier this month. Newly elected Council Member Curtis Brown is a former Fire Chief for the City of Temecula, and newly elected Council Member Brenden Kalfus is a fire fighter and an arson investigator. Please read this press release for more information about our incoming Mayor and City leadership.

I've listed a few of the Capital Improvement Projects below that are in the pipeline for 2023. Many more projects can be found in the City's 5-Year Capital Improvement Program, including the French Valley Parkway Phase 2 Project which is scheduled to break ground in the Spring.

We anticipate 2023 to be a wonderful and busy year in our great City of Temecula.

Happy New Year!

-Aaron Adams, City Manager

Pavement Rehabilitation of Residential Streets – Temecula has 325.5 miles of roadways, encompassing over 8.8 million square yards of concrete and asphalt surfacing. The City has employed field surveys utilizing a Laser Road Surface Tester to evaluate the overall condition of the pavement to determine which roads are next on the schedule. The map above shows the residential streets that are currently undergoing a multi-step pavement overlay process. Please check this link for updated information on roadwork. Note that dates provided are oftentimes delayed due to inclement weather.
