Greetings! If you are reading this email, you are a recipient of my monthly eblasts from the Office of the City Manager, which are intended to provide outreach about citywide news. There are many opportunities for you to receive City of Temecula publications and I’d like to highlight these options to help you stay informed and engaged.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that within the last five years, the media landscape and communications model has shifted in a fundamental way to include social media as the next generation’s way of approaching mass communications; however, at the same time, the City continues to provide traditional means of outreach using emails, press releases to the media (which are also posted to our website), as well as newsletters, flyers, and recreational brochures mailed to every household in Temecula. If you have social media, please follow the City's platforms including Facebook.com/CityofTemecula, Instagram.com/CityofTemecula, and Twitter.com/CityofTemecula/ which are active with daily citywide updates. Temecula's Community Services Department also provides information and updates about City events, museums, senior and special needs activities, City parks, the Theater, classes, internships, arts, culture, and recreational opportunities on Instagram.com/TemeculaParksandRec and Facebook.com/TemeculaParksandRec. You can find links to all of the City's \social media accounts at TemeculaCA.gov/Social.
Several other departments and divisions (such as Economic Development, the Theater, Community Services, City Clerk, and more) also send informational eblasts periodically, so I encourage you peruse TemeculaCA.gov/Communicate and select from the list to receive notifications about City topics that are of interest to you. The City's approach to public outreach also promotes a reliable two-way communication effort. To this end, we encourage you to download the FREE City APP, TemeculaCA.gov/App, and report items such as a graffiti issue or a pothole, or submit any type of inquiry, compliment, or concern. Staff contact information is also accessible online here: TemeculaCA.gov/Contact – feel free to reach out.
If you are interested in attending the annual Mayor’s State of the City address, it will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, 7am, at Pechanga Resort Casino. The 2022 theme is Temecula SAFE, and there is still time to purchase tickets online at Temecula.org/State-of-the-City-Address/. This yearly presentation will be filled with updates on current events and projects happening in the City and is a great opportunity to meet hundreds of other residents and business leaders. It also includes a nonprofit expo. If you are unable to attend, the City publishes a video of the presentation to our YouTube account, where you can also find many other informative videos YouTube.com/user/CityofTemecula.
As we continue with the Mayoral theme of Temecula SAFE throughout 2022, the City will continue hosting "Coffee with the Mayor" gatherings on the third Saturday of each month at various locations, and each time the Mayor highlights a specific Temecula SAFE topic. The next “Coffee with the Mayor” is set for Saturday, May 21, 2022, 7:30am, at Richie’s Real American Diner located at 32150 Temecula Parkway. Also, please look for the next Citywide newsletter, which will be mailed to all Temecula residential and business addresses as an updated edition to our "Emergency Preparedness" guide filled with useful information to help you prepare for a natural disaster or emergency.
All of these many forms of communication, by every City Department, play a critical role to support our community. Temecula has a unique story to tell within each project and program the City oversees. As we work to serve the needs of the City, we strive to provide helpful, timely and transparent information that is easily accessible to all Temecula citizens. The City of Temecula welcomes your feedback.
We hope to see you at the upcoming Mayor’s State of the City event!
-Aaron Adams, City Manager
