DEAR FELLOW MEMBERS,
With Hanukkah and the end of 2024 upon us, Temple B’nai Chaim (TBC) leadership and clergy extend our warmest wishes and heartfelt gratitude as we prepare to celebrate our 50th year!
Your engagement and support have sustained Jewish life in many of the towns surrounding TBC.
As the new year approaches, we are excited to share how TBC is growing and invite you to join us in shaping our future. To ensure our vision and congregation thrive for another 50 years, we are asking for your support.
Please donate generously to any of TBC’s “Four Pillars of Jewish Life” below. Your contributions will help close a critical fiscal gap before our operating year ends in June 2025.
TEMPLE B’NAI CHAIM’s FOUR PILLARS OF JEWISH LIFE:
- TORAH תּוֹרָה:
TBC relates to the Torah as a living document, divinely inspired with God's ongoing revelation to the Jewish people. We believe the Torah should be interpreted to honor the past, while remaining relevant to the present day, because all Jews have a role to play in this experience.
- TIKKUN OLAM תִּיקוּן עוֹלָם:
TBC is committed to Tikkun Olam “repairing the world” and G’milut Chasadim "Acts of Loving Kindness". We act as God's partners in improving the world and bringing peace, social justice, and love to all people.
- INCLUSION הַכְלָלָה:
TBC is committed to the principle of inclusion, where all can feel that they are seen, respected, and included regardless of their background or identity. We are proud of all our families, welcomed here since 1976.
- LEARNING לְמִידָה:
TBC is committed to ongoing Jewish learning and dialogue with God, the Torah, and what it means to be Jewish - then and now. Whether it’s through song, action, prayer or study, learning is an essential part of the Jewish and TBC experience.

NEW UPCOMING EVENTS:
On Wednesday, January 1st, kick off the New Year and say shalom to Hanukkah as we come together for a fun, music-filled, PAJAMA PARTY from 10-1pm with fun games, food, crafts and a special guest!
On Sunday, January 5th we are offering a first of its kind event: SOUP FOR THE SOUL. The idea is to start the year with less stress, and so to do that we will offer some stress reducing activities along with a comforting bowl of soup.
On Saturday evening, February 8th: A HIS AND HERS SOCIAL. This is an evening of poker and mahjong, whiskey and wine.
NEW MUSIC:
We are adding musical voices at Shabbat services and other programs. We have a new vocalist and the beginnings of an adult choir and a children’s choir. These additions will provide support for music both on the Bima, and within the TBC community. We welcome you to add your voice to any of these groups!
LOOKING FOR BUILDING EFFICIENCY:
We have begun to look for a suitable tenant to rent space in our building. There are many hours in a week when the building is available for other uses. Finding the right tenant will help us offset operational costs and keep TBC running smoothly.
MULTI-PRONGED MARKETING:
We are re-evaluating how we promote TBC. We are updating the look and feel of the TBC logos, and will also be much more active and purposeful on Social Media outlets.
Another focus is to better highlight our Religious School accomplishments. Its leadership, its unique hands-on Jewish curriculum with impressive teachers, and best in class B’nai Mitzvah instruction are accolades to shout from the rooftops!
COFFEE WITH THE CANTOR:
Come take a moment to sit and chat with our Spiritual Leader, Cantor Harriet Dunkerley. Whether there’s something on your mind, you have a question the Torah might answer, or you feel compelled to explore your Jewish culture and heritage more deeply, the Cantor always has ideas of how to help.
