It's Erev Pesach and there is no Shabbat Service at Temple to celebrate the first night Passover Seder at home. Chag Sameach, and we look forward to seeing you Saturday for the Shabbat & Passover Minyan, and Second Night Seder.
The kitchen has been Kashered - no more chametz!
 
The kitchen's is now Kosher for Passover, and so will the Temple be for the duration of the holiday. Please do not bring products with wheat, barley, rye, oat, or spelt into the kitchen from now until the end of Passover, and not anywhere in the Temple during the holiday, March 31 through April 6. We look forward to seeing everyone with their matzah sandwiches and matzah brei!

Ladies - let's get together: Sisterhood Women's Seder

Calling all sisters, mothers, daughters, and friends - come share in a delicious women's Seder hosted by Sisterhood. Join in the camaraderie and uplifting ritual by bringing a Kosher for Passover style salad, side dish or dessert to share (e ntrĂ©e and ritual foods provided). Pesach Yizkor Service

Yizkor, a special memorial prayer for the departed, is recited in the synagogue four times a year, following the Torah reading on the last day of Passover, on the second day of Shavuot, on Shemini Atzeret and on Yom Kippur. 
Break Passover with Pizza (and Temple Emanu-El!)

It's been a week of unleavened bread, gefilte fish and matzah ball soup - what better way to end it than with pizza?  All are welcome to join our congregational family for a free Shabbat dinner to break Passover with free pizza.
Shabbat in Nature
Saturday, April 7 at 10:00 AM
Sun, fun and minyan! Join us outdoors for a spring themed clergy-led minyan service, followed by a potluck lunch and optional hike. We will meet at Ed Levin Park at the gazebo at Sandy Wool picnic area. To get there, after entering the park, stay on the main road past the lake, taking the third right into the parking lot. Yom Hashoah u'Gevurah Memorial Service

Join in a community-wide memorial service, hosted by Congregation Beth David (19700 Prospect Road Saratoga, CA 95070),  to commemorate the lives and heroism of Jewish people who suffered, fought and died in the Holocaust between 1933 and 1945. For more information, click here
Mitzvah Project
March 4 to April 16
Recent B'nai Mitzvah students, Rachel Weinberg of Temple Emanu-El and Sylvie Loh of Shir Hadash, are running a drive to collect gently used or new kitchen supplies for refugees in need. The collected items will be donated to the Jewish Family Services for refugee families. These families are in desperate need of kitchen items like pots and pans, spatulas, utensil sets, etc. Donated items must all be in good condition or new. From March 4 to April 16, there will be a box located in the sanctuary foyer where you 
can bring your donations.Thank you so much for your help!

Yom Ha'atzmaut Volunteers Needed

The Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley Community is looking for volunteers to make the celebration of Yom Ha'atzmaut - Israel at 70 come to life. The day will be full of joy of arts and crafts, comedians, and music. The event needs volunteers for face painting, fashion shows, and much more.
