Global Judaism and Israel--Navigating Democracy in the Jewish State -  Donniel Hartman lecture
Sunday, April 22 at 7:30 PM
Rabbi Dr. Donniel Hartman will discuss "Global Judaism and Israel: Navigating Democracy in the Jewish State." Issues around pluralism and democracy have significantly strained the Diaspora-Israel relationship.  At the same time, rising anti-Semitism in the U.S. and around the world raises up our need and desire for unity. Rabbi Hartman brings his expertise and that of the Shalom Hartman Institute to this essential question of how the Diaspora-Israel relationship can navigate these challenges and strengthen our mutual support. Hartman is president of the Shalom Hartman Institute, one of Israel's most prestigious research institutions. He is a prominent essayist, blogger, and lecturer on issues of Israeli politics and policy, Judaism, and the Jewish community. Co-hosted by the Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley. Tickets available here.
