We have a few announcements:

Next Wednesday, May 1st at 7:00 PM is the South Bay's Community Yom HaShoah Memorial Service here at Temple Emanu-El. In honor of Holocaust Memorial Day, we will have special guest speaker Max Garcia, a survivor, sharing his story with us. This event will be with the participation of the Jewish clergy of the South Bay community, as well as an adult choir and children's choir. Max Garcia's book, Auschwitz, Auschwitz, I Cannot Forget You is also available for sale at Temple's gift shop. We hope you will be able to join us. Please note that neighborhood parking restrictions have been lifted for the evening.

Please note that the Temple office will be closed tomorrow on Friday, April 26th. Tomorrow at 9:00 AM , we will be holding our Pesach Morning and Yizkor Service . Please join us for a beautiful service to bid farewell to this most beloved holiday! This will be followed later in the evening by our popular Shabbat HaNefesh at 6:30 PM. Registration is closed, but please call us to see if we can accommodate additional registrants.

Lastly, have you been to the CHAIM Exhibit ? Thanks to our very own Iris Bendahan, Administrative Assistant and Clergy Support here at Temple Emanu-El, we have the California Holocaust Awareness & Action Interactive Museum set up in the Chapel . It will be here until May 6th, so take a look when you can!

Still Kosher for Passover!

Temple Emanu-El has been Kosher for Passover since Monday, April 15th. Please do not bring products with wheat, barley, rye, oat, or spelt to Temple Emanu-El until the end of Passover, April 26th, at sundown, when we will be enjoying chametz with all those who registered at Shabbat HaNefesh!
CHAIM Exhibit
Tuesday, April 23rd through Monday, May 6th
In honor of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day), visit the CHAIM Exhibit here at Temple Emanu-El, in the Chapel, between April 23rd and May 6th. CHAIM is a mobile Holocaust education exhibit created by our very own Iris Bendahan, the Temple office's Administrative Assistant and Clergy Support. Pesach Morning and Yizkor Service
Friday, April 26th at 9:00 AM
Join Rabbi Dana Magat and Cantor Amanda Edmondson for Yizkor, a special memorial prayer for the departed, is recited in the synagogue four times a year, following the Torah reading on the last day of Passover, on the second day of Shavuot, on Shemini Atzeret and on Yom Kippur.  
Community Yom HaShoah Memorial Service
Wednesday, May 1st at 7:00 PM
Commemorate Yom HaShoah with us in this community memorial service here at Temple Emanu-El. We are honored to have Max Garcia, a survivor, join us as a guest speaker. Brotherhood Giants Game

Watch the San Jose Giants face the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes with Temple Emanu-El's Brotherhood! Brotherhood is purchasing a block of reserved seating for the event, and Temple Emanu-El will be recognized with its name on the scoreboard during the game! Baby Shabbat

Temple Emanu-El presents a Shabbat experience geared towards families with children ages 1-30 months. Little ones will enjoy a service full of Shabbat songs and Torah talk! Kiddush, motzi, and a bagel oneg. Everyone is welcome!
Jews and Brews

Community Events
Help Homeless Women in Need
Month of April
Abigail Everett, whose Bat Mitzvah is this month, is organizing a drive for basic hygiene supplies for homeless women here in our community as part of her mitzvah project. Recently formed in 2015,  Simply the Basics  collects and organizes hygiene supplies and support partner organizations that are providing direct services to homeless people. You can learn more about their work in this inspiring  video . Please drop off donations at the Administrative Office here at Temple Emanu-El. Donations will be collected through the end of April.
Mimuna Party

Courageous Diplomats: Rescuers During the Holocaust

The topic of this year’s Holocaust remembrance ceremony will be “Courageous Diplomats: Rescuers During the Holocaust.” Holocaust survivor Lottie Marcus will share her personal story of survival through receiving a visa from Feng Shan Ho to Shanghai. Witness: Lessons from Elie Wiesel's Classroom
