Green Team Volunteer Opportunity
Saturday, February 3 at 8:45 AM at the corner of Santa Teresa Blvd and San Ignacio Ave.  If using a GPS enter 6407 San Ignacio Ave, San Jose CA.
Celebrate Tu B' Shevat with the Green Team and Our City Forests by planting trees this Saturday.  Please arrive by 8:45 AM to sign in. We will begin promptly at 9:00 AM with a brief planting and tool safety demonstration for all volunteers. The event should last until about noon.  Please wear closed toe shoes (this is mandatory), bring a water bottle, and sun/rain protection. We plant RAIN or SHINE.   The minimum age for volunteers is 18 for we will be planting on the median strip.  If you plan on joining us please RSVP to or call/text Bob at 408-834-9725.

Join your Temple Emanu-El neighbors to start the new week at Winter Neighborhood Havdalah.  Gather at a private home in your area to meet, chat, nosh and enjoy this wonderful tradition of saying goodbye to Shabbat under the stars.  The hosts will provide the home, guests will bring an appetizer or dessert, and Temple Emanu-El will provide the ritual materials!  Register here.  Non-members are welcome!  Registration closes tomorrow at noon.

Preschool Open House

This is a fun night for families interested in our program to come and check us out. 
Our program accepts children ages 2-6.
We will have activities for the kids in each classroom, the entire staff will be present to answer any questions and the playground  will be available for tours.
Israeli Dancing

Congregational Retreat

Baby Shabbat

Temple Emanu-El presents a Shabbat experience geared towards families with children ages 1-30 months.  Little ones will enjoy a service full of Shabbat songs, Torah talk, and parachute play!  Kiddush, motzi, and a bagel oneg sponsored by Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood follows this fun-filled program.  What a great opportunity for parents of young children to meet and form groups- perhaps even life long friendships- with their peers.  Everyone is welcome!
Tot Shabbat with Catered Dinner

Worried that your little ones will squirm and make noise during services? No need to worry at Tot Shabbat!
Led by Rabbi Magat, families with young children will enjoy upbeat songs, a short story, and a talk with the Rabbi on the bimah during these brief services. The perfect way to introduce your little ones to the tradition of Friday nights. Following services, enjoy a delicious dinner provided by Sisterhood, of course at no charge!

Community Day at Bay Area Friendship Circle

February is Jewish Disabilities Awareness and Inclusion Month. In recognition of this day, Friendship Circle is offering a unique opportunity for children ages 5-12 to come and learn more about their peers with special needs by participating in our Sunday Circle program. Each participant will be paired with a child with special needs and a Friendship Circle teen volunteer.
