Zig Zag: I Cannot Tell a Lie, Happy Hour
Monday, February 22nd // 7:00pm

George Washington could not tell a lie, and neither can we! Even if you didn’t chop down a cherry tree, you can “confess” to a “crime” (like playing hooky or forging a parent’s signature on a report card) as we celebrate George’s birthday at a Happy Hour. Come and confess or just schmooze.

Zig Zag: Grown & Flown
Wednesday, February 24th // 7:00pm

This is the kickoff of the new "Grown and Flown" Parents group for parents of teens thru young adults (ages 16-20's). Join Debbie Michels & Rachelle Vogler for a great evening discussion.

Jews of Lithuania
Sunday, February 28th // 12:00pm

Join Shirley Lee on the next stop on her worldwide adventure! This time, she takes us on a tour of Lithuania to visit Jewish historical sites & more! Be sure to register for this unique experience! This virtual tour is FREE and open to everyone! Invite your friends from around the world to come join us!

Tikkun Olam Committee
The Tikkun Olam Committee and Parents Circle – Families Forum invite you to join a virtual conversation with two courageous bereaved mothers, an Israeli and a Palestinian. Despite having paid the highest price in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict – the loss of a child – both women have chosen a unique path of reconciliation and dialogue instead of revenge.

Date TBD in February, but will be at 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. because of the time difference between Israel and California. If you are interested in joining the conversation, please contact Marci Gerston at marci.gerston@gmail.com or admin@templesanjose.org.
Community Events
J-Street: A Conversation with Gershom Gorenberg
Wednesday, February 17th // 7:30pm

The occupation, Netanyahu’s long hold on power, and the Trump years have strained Israel’s democracy. How can Israel emerge from the crisis, and what challenges face the Biden administration in the relationship? Join Israeli historian and journalist Gershom Gorenberg for a conversation on how we’ve gotten here and where we can go.

Hillel L'Dor V'Dor
Sunday, February 21, 2021 // 5:00pm on Zoom

At the event, we will be honoring community members Dan Pitt and Barbara Green for their many years of dedicated service on behalf of the students we serve. We are proud to announce that this year’s student honoree is Ron Levy. Ron is President of the Students Supporting Israel club and member of the Jewish Students Union at San Jose State University.

Operation Dignity
Please join us to help Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley ensure that the urgent and critical emergency needs of Silicon Valley’s Holocaust Survivors do not go unmet. Every dollar donated to Operation Dignity will be matched by KAVOD SHEF in partnership with Seed the Dream Foundation up to $45,000.

Every dollar raised goes directly to our community's Holocaust survivors.
