Shabbat Shalom Message
from Dr. Anne Lidsky
Dear Friends,

I would tend to believe that there is not a single soul on this earth who has not struggled with some conflict, seeking peaceful resolution. Today. in particular, with the tensions across our country, peaceful resolution is on all of our minds. This particular Torah portion, Korach, has so much to teach us.
Digital Worship Schedule
Judaism holds pikuach nefesh, saving a life, as one of our highest values. In order to protect the health and safety of our community, Temple Jeremiah will be offering services via  Zoom.

We invite all congregants to tune in and follow along with the  Mishkan T'filah. For those who do not have a copy of the  prayer book at home, you can now  read a fully digitized version of the  Mishkan T'filah online.

Resources for Envisioning and Promoting Racial Justice
Protests against the violent deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and others are emboldening and expanding the movement to fight racism. But to make progress, many of us may need to adjust our thinking and our actions. With this in mind, Temple Jeremiah has prepared a list of readings and resources for members interested in learning more about racial justice during this time. To check them out, click here.

Cantor Susie Sings with Special Guest Cantor Jeff Klepper
Monday, June 22 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. join Cantor Friedman as she hosts Cantor Jeff Klepper over Zoom to discuss songs of worship, including those written by Cantor Klepper himself! Cantor Klepper will talk about the process of writing songs like "Shalom Rav" and "Open Up Our Eyes" as well as what he hopes his music means to the Jewish community. At the end the session, Cantor Friedman will sing a song written by Cantor Klepper!

Crescendo Discussion with the Israel Action Committee!
The Israel Action Committee invites you to join Rabbi Cohen and fellow congregants on Monday, July 6th at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the film Crescendo.

Crescendo tells the story of a German conductor's effort to create an Israeli-Palestinian orchestra. Although this orchestra is intended to demonstrate the possibility of cultural reconciliation, friction inevitably mounts between the musicians, leaving the conductor to attempt to keep them playing in sync.

Please watch the film before attending the discussion on July 6th. We recommend renting Cresendo through the The Wilmette Theater, a wonderful North Shore institution that will be hosting the film on its website until Friday, June 26th.

Mark Your Calendar for Sunday in the Park(ing Lot)
On Sunday, July 12th, Temple Jeremiah will be hosting a drive through event, during which congregants can enjoy food and entertainment in Temple Jeremiah’s parking lot while maintaining safe, social distancing protocols! Join our clergy, staff, and other members for music, a taco truck, giveaways, and more!

During the event, we will also be collecting business clothes for Fitting Futures and nonperishables for a food drive. Hop in your cars and drive through the Temple Jeremiah parking lot to connect!
