Extraordinary Passages: Generations

Generations: A Family's Journeys: A family journey of three generations, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob led to the formation of a nation of people called the Children of Israel. We'll look at how the paths of the patriarchs diverged, how their lives connected with the Land of Israel, and explore the meanings of their multi-generational saga.

Rabbi Sylvin Wolf, a resident of The Coves and former Rabbi of the Naples Jewish Congregation, presents a six session course called "Extraordinary Passages" which explores various journeys from biblical times to the present, including our own individual journey.

The Bloom Garden
Gets a Makeover
My name is Jack Blasbalg.  On May 11th I became a Bar Mitzvah at Congregation Ahavath Chesed - The Temple and on June 6 I became a Life Scout in Troop 277 (Ponte Vedra Beach).  For my Eagle Scout Project, a requirement for the final rank in Boy Scouts of "Eagle Scout", I have chosen to restore the Bloom Garden at Temple.

The once beautiful garden has become somewhat of an eye sore. For my Eagle project I will be cleaning the area by removing the existing landscaping and power washing the brick and windows. I will then be laying additional soil and river rock, planting approximately 35 succulents and 20 other sturdy plants, a yucca tree, and trying to place large rocks strategically to make the garden more aesthetically pleasing.

Upon request of Sandy Archer, Co-chair of the Beautification Committee, who helped me design the layout of the Bloom Garden, I just built two large planters to go in the garden. One is seven feet long and the other four.

Currently I am in the process of fundraising for my project, hoping to raise enough funds to complete this project by the High Holidays.
