Social Circus students from Price Hill recently performed with joy and pride at the Price Hill Library, Cincy-Cinco, and the Youth Circus Extravaganza at the Salvation Army in Price Hill.

Circus Youth in Action teens worked with the coaches to create this year's theme – The Arts of Chaos: Framing the Joy of Circus. As assistant coaches, they were Captains for each piece, helping to choreograph, choose music, and make sure all the younger students were ready to perform. Working with Matt Steffen, they learned how to work with a designer who solidified their ideas into
concrete images.

The Art of Chaos brought together students from our sites to perform. After-school students showcased their skills to the parents at the end of the semester.
It has been a joy to witness their growth and see their expanding confidence and self-esteem throughout the year.

This summer, a diverse group of circus students will perform in ten free outdoor performances called Circus in the Parks and bring the joy of circus to Cincinnati Parks.

Addressing students' social-emotional health has always been a top priority for My Nose Turns Red Youth Circus. Youth will feel the social-emotional effect of isolation due to Covid for years.

The American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the Children's Hospital Association have declared that the pandemic-related decline in child and adolescent mental health has become a national emergency according to the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. (2021, October 19).

The free social circus after-school classes, Circus Youth in Action, and skill-based circus classes address the social-emotional needs of youth through participation, creativity, and collaboration. Circus builds trust, perseverance, and confidence to go out into the world and pursue their dreams, with the knowledge that they accepted challenges with a trusted group of peers. They need that confidence now more than ever.

This year, we ask you to help support My Nose Turns Red's commitment to our students' social-emotional and physical well-being.
