We are pleased to announce a new service that we are providing to our patients -- the ability to Self Schedule sick visits for the next morning (or the same morning, if you are awake early)!

Many of you have taken advantage of self-scheduling your flu shots... starting October 1st you can do the same for common sick visits. This includes colds, sore throats, ear pain, etc. We are excluding visits that take up more time like illnesses that have occurred over several days or behavior/mental issues.

This will be available for ALL office locations for the first hour of the day, starting at 8:30am.

Question: How do I self-schedule a sick visit for my child?

Answer:

a) At the bottom of this newsletter and on the home page of our website there will be a link. This link will bring up a very brief questionnaire to make sure the symptoms qualify for a self-schedule visit.

b) After the questionnaire is "passed", you will be shown a list of available appointments at all office locations with specific doctors for ill visits. This is not to be used to schedule well visits. An example of what you will see is below:

c) Once you pick your time/office/doctor, you will answer a few questions about your CHILD'S information to verify the match with our records. You will then go through a few more steps to confirm your phone number and receive a text confirmation.

Despite this process taking a few steps, it can be done outside of office hours and secure your child's appointment without making a phone call.

These appointments will be available only for the NEXT day or SAME morning; you should not book appointments days in advance. Please only select an appointment time where you feel confident you can be there on time!

Please be patient as this is a new workflow and process for our practice, but we feel confident it will be a win-win for our patients and the staff at Tenafly Pediatrics.
