This last month has been nothing short of spectacular for our real estate business, and for business around Lake Tenkiller. Thank you for being a part of it. Suzanne Sullivan, with the VCF said due to the coronavirus, they will not be presenting their annual Favorite Son and Daughter Awards this year. "We are going to ask that as much as possible you maintain social distancing. If you decide to watch the show inside the field, we strongly recommend you not coming until close to time for the show, which will begin at 9:45 p.m., and that you wear some type of mask," Sullivan said. "Please help us protect our community even as we celebrate together!"

Sullivan said anyone wishing to contribute to this year's show can still do so by dropping off a check at Morning Sky Boutique or Stem & Leaf in downtown Vian. This event is funded solely by donations from businesses and individuals like you who have a genuine interest in seeing that this fireworks tradition continues for the enjoyment of both lake visitors and surrounding communities. We are hopeful that you will be able to once again make a donation to help us present this show.

The July 4th Lake Tenkiller Fireworks Extravaganza should be the best fireworks display ever for the Lake Tenkiller area! We truly appreciate all of you who sponsor this event and our lake association. The Fire Dept is also taking applications for volunteer firefighters and first responders. Blackgum Fire Department will be hosting a First Responder Course starting July 10th for anyone interested. Class size will be limited to 20 applicants with Active Volunteer Firefighters given preference.Call Scott at 918-773-8721

The Community center, which is used for training the VFD, is available to rent. It will seat up to 250. Domestic daily rent is $200 plus $150 cleaning deposit. Info Shannon at 405-385-4716
