Dear TPCA members,
We received a communication from Tennessee Department of Health and TennCare regarding EPSDT visits. Given that there is likely a backlog of children who need immunizations and school readiness exams, and in support of the patient-centered medical home model, TDH clinics will now prioritize connecting TennCare members to their assigned primary care providers for EPSDT visits.
In the past, TDH has provided these services when possible when a child presents for WIC or other services. If a patient does not have a relationship with a primary care provider, the local health departments will work with TennCare and the MCOs to establish a medical home.
