With a fleet of 15 delivery vehicles, Palace Vending in Kingsport, Tenn. has found significant savings from installing portable refrigerated containers in its vehicles.

The refrigerated containers from Coldtainer reduce maintenance and improve fuel economy, according to John Nottingham, president of the company, which supplies snacks, beverages, office coffee, water and catering services to businesses and schools throughout northeastern Tennessee, southwest Virginia and in the greater Asheville, N.C. area.

“Coldtainer refrigerated containers allow us to transport products over longer distances in cargo vans for a lower capital investment, and with double the fuel economy for those vehicles at significantly reduced operating costs,” said Nottingham. “Our maintenance costs are also lower than those for medium-duty trucks with coolers and cold plate refrigeration systems. The containers are easy to install and we can also easily move them to a different truck. Over time, we plan to add larger van models with Coldtainer units to our fleet.”

Nissin Cup Noodles has teamed with FOODBEAST, a social media food blog targeted at young people, to develop and install FOODBEAST #Dream Machines that allow consumers to win a free prize by posting a photo on Instagram.

The machines accept Instagram posts as currency and distribute free prizes in real time after fans post with a specific hashtag on their public feed. Users win free prizes that automatically vend within moments of posting, including Cup Noodles, video games, gift vouchers, Cup Noodles merchandise and more.

The user presses a large button on the machine to get a unique hashtag. They then post a photo with the machine on their Instagram page using the special hashtag, and tag @foodbeast and @originalcupnoodles. The machine then displays instructions to allow them to win a free prize.

Froyo Robotics Reis & Irvy’s Australia, a provider of robotic frozen yogurt vending machines, has selected Nayax Australia to provide its cashless payment system for Australian franchisees. Nayax Australia will provide its VPOS Touch device to the frozen yogurt machines, allowing customers to choose from a range of cashless payment methods.

Reis & Irvy’s franchisees in Australia, like its U.S. franchisees, will be able to access real-time sales reports, inventory data, warning alerts and loyalty reward programs thanks to Nayax’s management and telemetric capabilities.

Reis & Irvy’s selected Nayax because cashless payments are vital to the Australian market, where cash is rarely used, and contactless payment plays an important part of Australian consumers’ payment experiences.
