National Tennis Month
Promote National Tennis Month for the Month of May!
National Tennis Month begins on Monday! Designating a month of promotion for tennis gives coaches, facilities, Parks & Recs, Community Tennis Associations and NJTLs a platform to drive awareness for our sport.
USPTA National Day of Giving Ties Into NTM
To raise money in support of the USPTA’s efforts to grow the game, and to tie into National Tennis Month, the USPTA has established its National Day of Giving for May 19-21. The annual event raises money to help USPTA pros grow the game in underserved communities.

USPTA CEO John Embree to Retire at End of This Year
In a short video released last week, USPTA CEO and Executive Director John Embree announced he’ll be retiring from the organization at the end of 2023. The USPTA Board of Directors will be hiring a search firm to find his replacement.
USTA Florida Hosts Events Around BJK Cup Qualifier
The 2023 Billie Jean King Cup Qualifier, held at Delray Beach Tennis Center April 14-15, played host to a number of USTA Florida community events, including an All-Girls Camp that featured Billie Jean King, Jessica Pegula, and other pros.
Nat’l Public Parks Tennis Chps. Set for 100th Anniversary in September
This summer, the National Public Parks Tennis Championships will return to St. Louis for the 100th anniversary of the tournament, Sept. 14-17 at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.

Applications for the 2023 USTA Outstanding Facility Award Program are now being accepted! Each year, the USTA recognizes facilities throughout the country to encourage increasingly high standards for construction and/or renovation.

The Certified Tennis Court Builder (CTCB) Program was developed by the ASBA to help raise professional standards and to improve the practice of tennis court and facility construction and renovation.

The USTA's Adaptive Tennis Committee has authored an in-depth resource full of lesson plans and info geared toward individuals with cognitive impairments; this resource is designed to create a successful learning environment for players of all ages. Let’s Help BJK Win the Congressional Gold Medal!
With bipartisan support, H.R. 1831 was recently introduced to award Billie Jean King the Congressional Gold Medal, one of this country’s highest civilian awards. To date, an individual woman athlete has never received this award. Email or tweet your representative today to urge them to co-sponsor H.R. 1831, and use the hashtag #GiveBJKTheGold.
SoCal Pro Series Returns to San Diego, Los Angeles Areas
The SoCal Pro Series will make a triumphant return to tennis facilities in San Diego and Los Angeles counties this summer, giving SoCal players the chance to earn valuable ATP and WTA world ranking points. The $15,000-level events are part of the USTA Pro Circuit and ITF World Tour.
Trenton Alenik Honored as a Vegas ‘40 Under 40’
Trenton Alenik, the executive director of The Inspiring Children’s Foundation and chair of the USTA’s national Community Tennis Association Committee, was picked by Vegas Inc. for its “40 Under 40” honors.

PTR Schedules NYC Education Sessions During US Open
PTR will be back in New York City Aug. 28-30, providing coaches with education surrounding some of the best tennis in the world. Each session is 3 hours and includes a grounds pass for the US Open.
PTRW Coaching Summit Set for IMG Academy in September
The PTRW Coaching Summit is returning to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., Sept. 22-24. Men's and women's coaches, directors of tennis, managers, etc. are invited to join, as topics focus on working with female athletes, gender bias, empowering women, applying concepts to your facilities and more.
