The 2022 Tennis National Participation Report is now available from the TIA. This year’s report, for the first time, blends data from the Physical Activity Council (PAC) Study, administered by Sports Marketing Surveys, and the National Golf Foundation Participation Engagement Study (PES).

The award-winning Cary Tennis Park in North Carolina will be the new home of the ITA Women’s All-American Championships, beginning this fall and running through 2024.
ATA NJTL Eastern Cup Debuts at West Point
The inaugural ATA NJTL Eastern Cup, held at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., brought together kids ages 12-14 from NJTL chapters across the USTA Eastern Section to engage in the friendly team competition, and to learn about the Academy itself.

The University of Florida’s No. 1 seed Ben Shelton and the University of Texas’ No. 2 seed Peyton Stearns won the men’s and women’s 2022 NCAA DI Tennis Championships singles titles in Champaign, Ill.—the second consecutive year two American players have clinched individual titles.
Caroline Vincent Named ITA Ann Lebedeff Award Winner
Army’s Caroline Vincent is the 2022 ITA Ann Lebedeff Leadership Award Winner as endowed by Billie Jean King. As a four-year starter and current team captain of the Army women’s tennis team, she’ll be honored with a postgraduate scholarship and special recognition.
Former UCLA Star Crowned French Open Mixed Doubles Champion
Former UCLA standout Ena Shibahara, together with her doubles partner Wesley Koolhof, won the Mixed Doubles Championship at this year’s French Open.

Midwest Conducts Dozens of Free Play Tennis Events
Midwest volunteers and tennis enthusiasts helped organize 97 free Play Tennis Midwest events across local courts May 13-15 to celebrate National Tennis Month, introducing nearly 2,000 new players to the game.
USTA Southern Steps Up NTM Celebrations
Dozens of CTAs, NJTLs, public facilities and park & rec organizations partnered with USTA Southern to celebrate National Tennis Month in May, with 200 events across the section’s nine states and many official NTM proclamations.

A number of states and municipalities recognized May as National Tennis Month, including Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, who held a public signing and celebration at the State Capitol in Cheyenne.

National Public Parks Tennis Championships in Bucks County, Pa.
Coming July 22–24, the National Public Park Tennis Championships will be hosted by the Bucks County (Pa.) Tennis Association and supported by the Bucks County Tourism Grant Program. Events will include a player reception/picnic and a free T-shirt to the first 500 registrants.
USPTA World Conference Hits New Orleans Sept. 18-22
The 2022 USPTA World Conference will be back in the Big Easy, from Sept. 18 to 22 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
ATA National Championships to be July 24-31 at Lake Nona
The 2022 ATA National Championships will be July 24-31 at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla., with adult and junior divisions in singles and doubles. Book hotel rooms by June 24 for special tournament rates.
