CAPTAIN YOGI'S USELESS
BUT IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Well. there went summer, or at least as we know it. This rain is ridiculous and doesn’t want to stop anytime soon. Hopefully everyone’s basement is dry or don’t have an uninvited pool in the back yard. We have two pools now!! Hopefully we get our summer back soon! Lots of going ons this month.

I hope you can indulge me, I want to do a little review of a concert a couple of us where at last night at Club X/L in Harrisburg, which is across the street from Savannah’s on 10 th street. I must tell you, this is a great venue to see a show. They have a huge open floor, a huge patio that you can see the stage from and more than room for everyone. We had the pleasure of seeing the Devon Allman Project with Duane Betz, and let me tell you, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, they brought the house down, almost literally. They were doing a sit-down set signing the Grateful Dead’s “Friend of the Devil’ and about 5 minutes of the song, the fire alarm went off and shut down all the electric and the stage went dark. It took about 30 minutes, when they came back, they didn’t skip a beat! And yes, my Lynn’s Scotty Bryan was phenomenal as well, showing off his keyboard, singing and percussion skills. They did a lot of the Allman Brothers, but mixed it up with some songs you wouldn’t expect, Bill Wither’s ‘Lean On Me’ and Jackson Fives “I’ll Be there’ putting their own spin on it. Of the course the first son of the encore was ‘Midnight Rider’ and then the most unexpected song ‘Purple Rain’. All I can say is it was a moving show for me being within feet of some of the best guitar playing I have ever seen and still gives me chills as I write this. I think everybody felt the same! It was like stepping back in time!
As I’m sure everyone is aware, our biggest fundraising event is coming and YOU need to help get the word out! The 4 th Annual Jackie Invitational, which hasn’t sold out yet, but like last years, all you procrastinators wait till last minute, might be out of luck if it sells out, so get your tickets now!! It’s for a great cause and the ladies have been working hard to not disappoint with the raffle prizes!

I hope everyone enjoys the last 3 rd of summer and stay dry!

Both Pools are Open!

Hello Club Members!
Some of you may recall that we have a general Yahoo group for any and all club members - no restrictions to just club leaders like the Club Leader’s and Regional Groups have.

Because it’s not restricted to just club leaders, your members can get info directly. And, because it’s not restricted to just club leaders, those who wish to promote their club events and activities don’t have to rely on club leaders to pass on their messages. (Because every once in a while, a club leader forgets to pass things on. Just once in a while, right?)

Please encourage your members to join and please start posting your club events and promotional messages (tailgate info for Buffett shows and raffles to support your charity or event are good examples of what you could talk about) there. One topic exception is club tickets - that needs to be only amongst club members and the PHiP Yahoo Group is open to the public.

The Yahoo group name is PHIP and it can be found at https://  groups.yahoo.com/neo/  groups/PHIP/info. Super easy to click on +Join Group from there...

Thanks for spreading the word and for using!
