It’s hard to describe the camp experience. Campers leave the familiarity of everyday life to experience powerful worship, Biblical teaching, exciting recreation, and new friendships. Camp creates an environment where hearts can be opened and lives changed.
Students are able to be vulnerable and authentic. This summer at Camp Copass, we are digging into God’s Word through the theme “Chosen,” based on Psalm 139:14. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Campers are discovering their identity in Christ and being reminded of the incredible value and plan God has for their lives. The best way to share how God is working is to let you hear directly from those who experienced it alongside these students. Here are just a few stories from leaders who brought students to camp.
"...I had a kid that had signed up for camp. He is very shy and has a very small group of friends. His mother reached out a couple days before camp and said they couldn’t afford for him to go. I was able to raise enough money to help 13 kids get there. This kid is one that accepted Christ while he was there. He came out of his shell and made new friends. He was given a new Bible at youth this last week and even shared with the group his experience at camp..."
"...One of our [young campers] who is currently living in a motel, was able to attend Camp and experience what God is like for the first time. To him, Camp Copass was better than home life. He got hot meals, a comfortable bed he didn't have to share, and a week full of fun. By the end of camp, he was worshipping on his knees and our junior counselor came over to minister to him. It was a blessing for him to see that God cares and He provides, even when our own families or parents don't seem to care..."

"...I have been sub teaching this last year and got to meet a special needs kiddo. She and her brother came to VBS at our church. I talked to mom about the kids going to summer camp. No other church has let them go do things with them before. The mom was overwhelmed at how much fun her kids had. Her son accepted Christ as his Savior. God orchestrated so many things to help these kids find they are part of His family!"
