The County Commission today gave direction to purchase at least 45,000 at-home test kits for distribution across the County. These kits will be free to all Palm Beach County residents.
"We are getting prepared to have regional distribution sites throughout the county to hand out the test kits," said City Administrator Verdenia Baker.
The details and logistics of the test kit distribution are still being worked out, but she proposed the idea of giving them out at regional sites on a first-come, first-serve basis, saying it's the "only way to do it fairly and equitably."
The sudden emergence of the highly contagious omicron variant has put a crushing strain on COVID-19 testing sites throughout Palm Beach County over the last few weeks.

Testing is occurring at approximately 170 other locations throughout the County and the information on those sites is available on our website.
