Free Drive-Through COVID-19 Testing at College of San Mateo
San Mateo County Event Center NO LONGER offering testing

Testing for COVID-19 is now widely available across San Mateo County, including at a newly opened dedicated site at the College of San Mateo (CSM), for everyone who lives or works in San Mateo County - regardless of symptoms.

A drive-through testing site for adults and children now operates Sundays through Thursdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the College of San Mateo in a parking lot across from 3401 CSM Drive in San Mateo.

The move to CSM from the San Mateo County Event Center is intended to free up the Event Center for mass vaccination events.

County-sponsored testing at the College of San Mateo is being held in partnership with Logistics Health, Inc., a subsidiary of OptumServe. Click here to make an appointment.

Those who do not have internet access or require assistance with registration can call the
LHI call center at 888-634-1123 to make an appointment.
Sign Up for COVID-19 Vaccination Update Notifications

The County of San Mateo is following the State's guidance and is currently in the process of vaccinating groups in Phases 1A and 1B. The State’s phases and tiers of vaccine recipients are outlined here.

COVID-19 vaccine supplies are limited. You can sign up for the County’s notification tool to receive a notification when the State makes you eligible and receive additional information about how you may get an appointment. This notification system is meant as an interim strategy as the State of California assembles a statewide COVID-19 vaccine notification system called MyTurn, which will offer online appointment scheduling for our area soon.

Most San Mateo County residents will receive the vaccine from their primary care provider. Click here for provider-specific contact information. Veterans age 75 or older are asked to call the scheduling line at 650-615-6000 to secure an appointment.

Now Seeking: Inspired and Engaged Citizens

Does the current state of world, national, and regional events leave you wondering what you can do to get engaged and contribute positive change for the common good? While the ability to make global impacts may seem out of reach, achieving goals with like-minded local community members is very much attainable in Burlingame. In the words of Margaret Mead, "[n]ever doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed individuals can change the world. In fact, it's the only thing that ever has."

The City of Burlingame is currently seeking thoughtful and committed individuals to serve on the following committee and commissions:
  • Measure I Citizens' Oversight Committee
  • Planning Commission
  • Beautification Commission
  • Traffic, Safety & Parking Commission

Primrose Playground (formerly J-Lot Playground) Project Update

The newly renovated Primrose Playground in the downtown shopping district looks finished and has many people wondering why it's still not open for play. Here's why. By law, all playgrounds require a safety inspection prior to opening, and the Certified Playground Safety Inspector discovered a manufacturing defect in the window of the playhouse. The manufacturer is expediting a solution to address the problem. Once fixed, the playground will be re-inspected for safety.

The Parks & Recreation Department looks forward to opening this delightful new addition to downtown Burlingame as soon as it is deemed safe. Additional improvements to this playground include a drinking fountain with a bottle filler, a new fence, and new landscaping. These improvements will be completed as staff/contractor time allows. This project was funded by the State of California Office of Grants and Local Services Proposition 68 Per Capita Grant. Thank you for your patience.
