Get the Facts - Added Sugars

Wednesday, June 19, 2024 @ 1 - 2:30 pm

Join us as we learn about added sugars (which may be lurking in many of our favorite summertime drinks) and the health benefits associated with monitoring our sugar intake. We will then apply what we learned as we create fresh and summery smoothies, without any added sugars. Attendees will even get a chance to take a spin on a blender bicycle for those who would like to add a little exercise to their smoothie-making process!

All supplies will be provided for this hands-on class.

Location:

Mammen Family Public Library

131 Bulverde Crossing

Bulverde, TX 78163

This program is FREE but registration is required. Please register at the link below.

What is Roasting?

Roasting uses dry heat to slow-cook ingredients where hot air surrounds the food and cooks it evenly on all sides. Typically, a temperature of at least 300°F (or 150°C) is required for roasting. This classic cooking technique is compatible with all heat sources, including an open flame or an oven.

Roasting is designed to enhance flavor in a dish through caramelization and browning on the surface of food (think crispy potatoes), and is perfect for poultry, pork, vegetable and fish recipes.
