Texas A&M University-Kingsville Earns AACSB International Accreditation               
College in the top 5% of business schools worldwide
 
AACSB International (AACSB) announces that Texas A&M University-Kingsville has earned accreditation for its College of Business Administration (CBA). Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools, and the largest business education network connecting students, educators, and businesses worldwide. 
 
"AACSB congratulates Texas A&M University-Kingsville and Dean Natalya Delcoure on earning accreditation," said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. "AACSB Accreditation represents the highest achievement for an educational institution that awards business degrees. The entire CBA team-including the administration, faculty, directors, staff, and students-are to be commended for their roles in earning accreditation.  
 

College of Business Administration Students Present at Citgo's STEM Day  
Business students participate in annual event      
 
Texas A&M University-Kingsville College of Business Administration students representing each college student organization presented at the CITGO STEM Day event on November 8 at the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) studies. Business students' presentation was titled "Business Computer Applications and Website Marketing."  Student presenters were Luke Kotara, James Crabbe, Gilbert Villanueva and Tiphanie Contreras.


Accounting Students Attend IMA Conference             
Taking advantage of leadership and career opportunities
 
Members of the Accounting Society attended the IMA's Student Leadership Conference that was held November 9-11, 2017 at Houston Marriott Marquis. Students attended a networking reception and numerous sessions regarding career-related advice and leadership development.


Javelina Marketing Students Present Animal Rescue Kleberg with Donation
Birthday celebration leads to money raised      
 
Dr. John Cicala, associate professor in the College of Business Administration, and several marketing students presented Animal Rescue Kleberg (ARK) with a check for more than a thousand dollars after the professor chose to celebrate his birthday by raising funds for the local non-profit.

ARK is undergoing much-needed renovations, and the amount given by Cicala and his students provides dire assistance for the animal adoption agency. Read more about this article.


Dr. Anne-Marie Lelkes Receives Outstanding Accounting Educator Award              
Recognized by Texas Society of CPA's
 
Anne-Marie Lelkes, CPA, assistant professor of accounting at Texas A&M-Kingsville, was named a 2017 recipient of the Texas Society of CPAs' Outstanding Accounting Educator Award.
 
The statewide award honors Texans who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and who have distinguished themselves through active service to the accounting profession. Read more about this article.

Dr. Natalya Delcoure Named to Texas Higher Ed Coordinating Board Committee             
Will focus on process of earning a business degree
 
Dr. Natalya Delcoure, dean of the College of Business Administration at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, was appointed by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to serve on a committee focused on the process of earning a business degree. 

The Business Administration and Management Field of Study (FOS) Advisory Committee is made up of 24 voting members-half from community colleges and half from public universities-to serve as a representative sample of institutions of varying sizes, peer groups and regions of the state.
