ELI YOUNG BAND PEN TOUCHING TRIBUTE “HOME IN HOMETOWN”
New “Home In Hometown Tour” Dates Announced
as Band Releases First New Music in 3 Years
“We’ve written 143 songs and it’s just the beginning of our next chapter”
DENTON, Texas – It’s widely known how award-winning Eli Young Band formed while together in Denton, Texas attending college at University of North Texas, however their journey over the next 20+ years would lead them everywhere, seldomly seeing home in between. With notions of longing ever present in their writing, it’s no surprise as they find their center as releasing music for the first time in three years independently with both home, and those who make it so, at the core. Listen to “Home In Hometown,” HERE.
A true-to-experience ballad of life on the road, and heart-on-their-sleeve marker of what they've learned in their years away from those they love most. With ringing guitars capturing a sense of anticipation, a steady rhythmic heartbeat and a euphoric singalong chorus, the band unpack what "home" really means.
"When you find the love of your life you’ll follow them anywhere,” shares band lead vocalist and guitarist Mike Eli who penned the song alongside Ryan Tyndell and Jeff Hyde (Eric Church’s “Springsteen” and Keith Urban’s “We Were”). “My wife, Kacey, and I started as a long distance relationship and it was tough to keep it together. When I wrote this I was digging deep into our Texas roots. I wanted to write something that felt like Pat Green or Jack Ingram would cut. And when you travel like we do, a lot of times you're thinking about coming home and being with your family -- but, it's almost like if they meet you on the road, anywhere can be home. It just feels right. I wanted to capture that."

KENT FINLAY SONG SEARCH
FiestaJAM’s Kent Finlay Texas Song Search contest – created last year in honor of the late, great singer-songwriter, Cheatham Street Warehouse founder and singer-songwriter mentor – will be held again this year as a preliminary round for finals to take place at the newly added spring FiestaJAM, slated for May 2025. The legendary music icon Finlay fostered the careers of many beloved singer-songwriters at his San Marcos venue from George Strait, Todd Snider and Stevie Ray Vaughan to Hendrix and current owner Randy Rogers.
“This is definitely an event for singer-songwriter fans,” says co-founder John Arthur Martinez. “FiestaJAM celebrates the singer-songwriter tradition of the Marble Falls/Spicewood area that began decades ago when Country Music Hall of Fame inductees Floyd Tillman and Willie Nelson settled there.”
This is the early round for the Kent Finlay Texas Song Search. The early round winner will go onto compete in the finals at Fiesta JAM, a 501 - c3 Benefiting Youth Music Education, in the spring. The early round winner will receive two four-hour recording sessions at martinez's private studio. The overall winner in the spring will have their winning song promoted to radio by Jenni Finlay Promotions.
Grammy-winning songwriter, performer and producer Shawn Camp will headline an expanded annual FiestaJAM on Lake Marble Falls from Oct. 10-12 in the Hill Country outside Austin, Texas. The festival, a celebration of singer-songwriters, also will feature area favorites Walt Wilkins, Terri Hendrix, Susan Gibson and john Arthur martinez & Tejas, plus several other esteemed artists. Three-day passes are $90, Friday or Saturday single-day passes are $35 and Thursday passes are $30. All are on sale now at fiestajam.org.
The event kicks off Thursday, Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. in the Lakeside Pavilion at Lakeside Park, 305 Buena Vista Drive, Marble Falls. CLICK HERE for details!
