The Road Goes on Forever and the Party Never Ends
Robert Earl Keen released his latest album Western Chill and the reviews are stellar.
Keen took to socials and said "our latest release, Western Chill, captures the heart of Texas roots music, pushing boundaries while staying true to my signature storytelling. It’s a testament to the collective talent of a band that knows exactly how to deliver. ‘Western Chill,’ the first track on the album, sets the tone for the whole album with layers of sound and storytelling. Grateful for the recognition of this project, and for the chance to share these songs with the world."
Western Chill consists of vinyl box set with two LP's, an illustrated novel and a songbook.
The Western Chill vibe is soulfully laid-back— and packed with enough surprises to keep even the most seasoned fan guessing what’s coming next. The opening title track—an instant Keen classic in the easy-loping vein of “The Front Porch Song,” “Gringo Honeymoon,” and “Feelin’ Good Again”—sets the mood for the whole album, followed by back-to-back original stunners sung and written by fiddle/guitar player Brian Beken (“Waves”) and bassist Bill Whitbeck (“Bluelight”). If variety is the spice of life, Western Chill is the Silk Road to chill with more contributions heard from Beken and Whitbeck as well as compositions by the rest of the band. This has all been documented here because true to the “featuring” tag on the album cover, this really is a REK Band affair.
The album is available on all digital platforms or you can purchase the boxed set on REK's website HERE.

Una Mas Cerveza Por Favor
Tommy Alverson's wife Amy Carol Alverson took to socials yesterday announcing that Tommy is battling cancer. They are in the middle of tests and scans to assess the situation and make a treatment plan.
Their "framily" as she calls them gathered last night at Rickhouse Brewery in Mineral Wells to celebrate Tommy.
"I am so very humbled and thankful for our tribe I promise to keep everyone updated… I have no words for what happened tonight at RH, the entire room was buzzin with love … please include us in your prayers, God is good all day everyday and hears us, prayer is our strongest weapon," Amy said.
