SOMEONE PINCH ME! I GET TO OPEN UP FOR WILLIE NELSON!
Keller Cox posted on socials that he gets to open for none other than Willie Nelson!
"I’ve been dreaming of this opportunity in my heart for a while now and had no idea if it would ever come to fruition… lost for words is an understatement.
Saturday, October 19th at Concrete Street in Corpus Christi, TX.
Literally can’t wait. Here goes something!!"
Keller Cox is a Texas music artist who discovered his passion for the genre while attending Texas A&M University. Raised on 2000s country music, he became a regular at the famous Brazos Valley dancehall, Hurricane Harry’s, which inspired him to pursue a career in writing and performing Texas Country music.
After graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in Construction Science in May 2022, he focused entirely on his music career.
Keller’s songwriting aims to reflect life as it was, is, and should be. In 2022, he teamed up with producer Scott Faris at The Amusement Park Studio in Lubbock, Texas, to record his second full-length album, “Good Again, Amen,” featuring his top 10 single "Damn Good Friends" with his buddy Cleto Cordero of Flatland Cavalry and his current single "Good Again, Amen."
Upcoming shows:
10/18 with Casey Donahew at Hurricane Harry’s, College Station, TX
10/19 with Willie Nelson at Concrete Street Amphitheater in Corpus Christi, TX
11/1 Texican Court, Irving, TX
11/7 With Flatland Cavalry at The Buddy Holly Hall, Lubbock, TX

Way Back Waylon Wednesday | |
Waylon Jennings was the first single solo act to have a certified platinum album with Ol' Waylon.
Ironically, Waylon didn't like one of his biggest hits from this album "Lukenbach, Texas (Back to the Basics of Love)" according to a Whiskey Riff article.
In his 1996 book Waylon: An Autobiography, he noted: “I knew it was a hit song, even though I didn’t like it, and still don’t.” Every state has a Luckenbach; a place to get away from things.”
His drummer Richie Albright recalls Waylon talking about it in a later recording session, which is honestly my favorite part of the whole song and story of how it came to be: “Just remind me when I’m picking singles from now on that I got to sing that mother*****r every night.”
