The King of Country & Rodeo

George Strait has graced the stage at Rodeo Houston about 30 times, beginning with his unexpected debut in 1983. He stepped in last-minute for Eddie Rabbit, who fell ill on the day of his scheduled performance. Initially, the audience was disheartened and even booed Strait as he took the stage. However, by the end of his set, he had won them over, leaving the crowd cheering and applauding—a pivotal moment that launched the illustrious career of the King of Country Music.
