Surprise Induction for Cross Canadian Ragweed


Congratulations to Cross Canadian Ragweed on their induction into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame! The announcement was made this past Saturday during Cody Canada & The Departed's show at Cain's Ballroom. The band was taken by surprise with the honor and ended the night with a four-song set to celebrate.

Koe-Performance


Koe Wetzel Day was on Feb. 28th and he held a big party at his club The Riot Room in Fort Worth where he gave an impromptu performance of "February 28, 2016." Check out the video HERE.

Condolences


Texas Music Daily sends heartfelt condolences to Roger Creager and his family on the passing of his father, Bill Creager. Many social media posts fondly remember Bill joining his son on stage to sing "Rancho Grande," a cherished highlight of numerous Creager shows. His presence and spirit will be deeply missed.

Brit Kerr Death


Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the family of Texas Music artist Brit Kerr who passed away over the weekend after a battle with an unspecified illness.

Good Again, Amen!


Eric Raines, the renowned radio host of 95.9 Austin's Texas Country and formerly of KOKE-FM, recently survived a life-threatening "widow-maker" heart attack. He is now recovering at home. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery.

Texas Broadcast News Awards


KMHT in Marshall, TX proudly won two Texas Broadcast News Awards and has been named a finalist in four other categories, with the winners to be announced in April. Congratulations to the KMHT team on their achievements and best of luck in the upcoming announcements!


Ashli Dansby won the General Assignment award for her coverage of the Marshall Fire Station Temporary Closure, while Jacob Bumpas took home the award for Sports Story or Feature for his piece on Friday Night Lights Matchups. 

Not Gone Yet


After announcing that it would go silent on February 28th, Texas/Red Dirt station 94.9 The Outlaw, KOLI in Wichita Falls, TX has extended its broadcast for a few more weeks according to a post on the station's Facebook page. Program Director and morning co-host James Cook will transition to sister station KLUR.
