The band’s second album, ROLLERCOASTER, is applauded as one of the most impactful collections in the Texas music scene. Shooter Jennings and Actor James Woods Collaborate

An unlikely pair have collaborated with amazing results. Shooter Jennings and actor James Woods have collaborated with the newest single "The Road Back" as well as a new album to be released October 18th. While this is seemingly the first of its kind, the collaboration between Jennings and Woods began when Jennings casually suggested that Woods try writing song lyrics. Woods, who had been encouraged to write a book about his life, discovered that writing song lyrics allowed him to express his life stories in a more authentic and moving way. This led to the creation of their album Hear the Thunderous Crack, which tells stories from Woods’ life. The pair met through a mutual friend at a social event.

Woods first announced the album in an interview with Megyn Kelly in July, saying he is “embracing” his “second act” after his Hollywood career essentially came to a halt. Woods’s last live action work was in 2017. Woods recounted in 2018 — we well as in the Kelly interview — being dropped his agent over his outspoken conservative views. The actor wrote in his newsletter that the songs written for the album are his version of a celebrity “tell all.” Courtesy of Tresha Glowacki.
