Rumor Mill: 2026 "The Boys from Oklahoma" Concert in the Works?

Oklahoma thunder rolled through Waco as another record-breaking weekend of The Boys from Oklahoma shows wrapped with a tease for 2026: Cody Canada (Cross Canadian Ragweed, The Departed) and Evan Felker (Turnpike Troubadours) hinted at a Stillwater encore that’s already stirring buzz.

Headliners Cross Canadian Ragweed and Turnpike Troubadours drew nearly 40,000 fans to McLane Stadium, joined by Wade Bowen, Shane Smith & The Saints, American Aquarium, and a surprise appearance by Robert Earl Keen. Keen took the stage with Ragweed for a heartfelt tribute to the late Charlie Robison, delivering “My Hometown”.

Close Call on the Road for Jason Boland & The Stragglers

Earlier this month, Jason Boland & the Stragglers’ tour bus was struck by a bullet—narrowly missing band member Chris Mekolik, according to 107.7 Red Dirt Rebel. Thankfully, no one was injured.

This marks the second reported incident in recent months involving gunfire and a touring artist’s bus. Mike Ryan’s (TMD 7/23) tour bus was hit while traveling through Colorado back in July.
